 General Otolaryngologist - Santa Rosa
Seeking BC/BE Otolaryngologist to practice General Otolaryngology for adult and pediatric populations in our office founded in 1972 in Santa Rosa, California. Subspecialty focus in addition to General ENT a possibility. The office has full service audiology staff and hearing aid dispensing on site as well full practice management support from the CEI Management Group (in-house billing / collections, accounting, HR, IT, Marketing) as a part of the California Ear Institute / California Sinus Institute. Sub-specialty Otology and Sinus MD´s on site 2-4 times per month. Let Them Hear Foundation associated programs offer unique opportunities for ´giving back´ locally and internationally.

Accounts Receivable Representative - Menlo Park
California Ear Institute, Northern California's premier site for treatment of ear, hearing, and balance disorders, has an immediate need for a full time AR Representative at its Billing office in Menlo Park.
CEI was founded in 1968 as the first practice in the United States to be dedicated solely to ear and hearing health care. CEI has provided more than 250 million visits for patients with surgical, medical, audiologic, hearing aid, cochlear implant, vestibular, facial nerve disorder, and cranial base disorder needs.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma
- College Degree Preferred
- B.A. or B.S. in related field
Qualifications & Experience
- Five plus years experience in Physician Business Office reimbursement department/billing department. Previous employment as account representative with hospital accepted.
- Computer literate, knowledge of Advanced MD practice management systems a
plus.
- Complete knowledge of analyzing explanation of benefits (EOB) and appeals
process.
- Proven understanding of managed care, Medicare and commercial insurances.
- Thorough knowledge and application of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding.
- Knowledge of managed care guidelines and contractual arrangements.
- Thorough and complete knowledge of daily balancing.
- Understanding of credit balance adjudication.
- Computer literate, knowledge of Advanced MD practice management systems a
plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Neat, professional appearance.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
- Continue to do daily balancing until notified otherwise
- Responsible for aging activities from 60 days and above for the respective
entity.
- Call or utilize carrier website to follow-up on unpaid claims.
- Work credit balance report.
- Track rejection patterns by carrier and report any trends.
- Responsible for all patient phone calls relating to entity.
- Adjudicate credit balance and unapplied credit.
- Make arrangements for medical records request, & completion of additional
paperwork.
- Do weekly refunds for entity.
- Identify patients to be sent to collections.
- Develop written plans for improving collections ratio.
- Clearly document account regarding follow-up.
- Meet with Manager weekly to discuss strategy.
- Interface with Reception Services Team to notify staff about outstanding
balances on patients being seen in the office.
- Performs additional duties as required.
